Jewelry Care Guide
Jewelry Care Guide
Daily basics
- Last on, first off. Put jewelry on after lotions, perfume, hairspray; remove before sleep, shower, gym, and swimming.
- Wipe after wear. Use a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and moisture.
Cleaning at home
- Solid gold & most diamonds: Mild dish soap + warm water; soft brush; rinse; pat dry.
- Sterling silver: Silver polishing cloth. For tarnish: soap + warm water; dry fully.
- Gold-plated / vermeil: Soap + lukewarm water only—no polishing creams/abrasives.
- Pearls, opals, turquoise, malachite, coral: Wipe with a barely damp soft cloth; no soaking, steam, or ultrasonics.
Storage
- Dry, closed, separate. Use pouches/compartments to prevent scratches and tangles.
- Anti-tarnish: Store silver with anti-tarnish strips; avoid bathroom humidity.
Wear & tear tips
- Chains: Remove for workouts and sleep to prevent stretching or kinks.
- Rings: Avoid harsh cleaners and weightlifting; soaps can loosen settings over time.
- Plated finishes: Expect natural wear on high-friction areas; gentle care extends life.
Checks
- Quarterly check: Look for loose stones, bent prongs, worn clasps. If something snags, stop wear and contact us.
Avoid
- Chlorine/hot tubs, bleach/ammonia, acetone, sulfur springs, abrasive pastes, and paper towels.
Quick refresher: Wipe it → store it dry and separate → wash gently when dull → skip chemicals and ultrasonics for delicate stones and all plated pieces.
